About This Book
Big Stone Gap, Virginia was the virtual starting point for Daniel M. True, the author of this book, that describes the austere life there before, during and immediately after World War II, and their progression into the Space, High Tech and Computer ages.
The book is a chronicle of one growing up during those hard times and is fairly historically correct (more so than other books written about Big Stone Gap, Virginia!). However, this biography is also woven throughout with an obvious “thread” of Spiritual direction and guidance, infused with descriptions of readily-verifiable “Supernatural” happenings!
The intent of this book is to encourage anyone, regardless of your beginnings, easy or hard, that life is in your and God’s hands, IF you allow Him into the driver’s seat!
Remember, God doesn’t make junk and He doesn’t misdirect His kids. He has a purpose for your life. And, since God doesn’t practice favoritism (Acts 10:34NIV), whatever He has done for others, He is able and also willing to do for you!
Please download and read this book cover-to-cover. It is only $8.99, payable through PayPal. You will surely be encouraged as you see God taking a simple country boy around the world and to the “Gateway to the Stars” !

I have been asked about the title of my autobiography (“I Walked With God”). I have alluded to it in my conclusions at the end of the book (page 147). However, here is the detailed explanation:
In the 1954 movie, “The Student Prince”, operatic tenor Mario Lanza sang the song “I’ll Walk With God“.
The movie is built around a spoiled young man who was successor to the family throne. His tutor convinced the grandfather (King) to send him to a school in Heidelberg where he could learn to relate to people. In the story, he falls in love with a bar maid and wants to run off with her. However, the King dies and the Prince is called upon to fulfill his destiny as leader of the people. The song, “I’ll Walk With God” is his affirmation or commitment to follow the path that he had been prepared for, regardless of how his heart would lead him, with God as his “helping hand”.
I adapted the past tense of the song’s title as the name of my book, since much of my walk has already occurred! And, like the song (and the movie’s story), not everything went MY way! The reading of the story will give you all the details.
Danny
